The Tradition of the Place
Cichy Kącik is a unique location in Kraków. The surrounding greenery and the proximity to the open space of Błonia Park, with its stunning panorama of the Old Town, provide a tting setting for the planned KCM facility.

Classical values, along with traditional and universal principles of urban design, have been considered indispensable for creating this new urban concept. The goal is to establish an open space that engages in dialogue with its surroundings while simultaneously fostering a focus on music.
The concept centers on creating a well-organized open space that is transparently arranged. On one hand, it clearly designates areas dedicated to specic musical activities, while on the other, it allows the freedom for creative use.

Scenic Qualities
The facility’s façade features a distinctive rhythm of columns forming a frontal portico visible from afar. This design organizes the entrance space, extending from the plaza that acts as an extension of the foyer. Facing Błonia Park, the structure extends an open invitation. The building’s open design on all sides fosters dialogue with its surroundings.
Nearby trees and, in the distance, the green hills of Sikornik with Kościuszko Mound towering above, become part of the building’s interior space through the use of arcades, courtyards, and a viewing terrace, seamlessly blending the interior with its picturesque surroundings.

Spatial Organization
The front plaza emphasizes the importance of the facility and serves as a public space open to various activities. The simple and clear spatial organization connects the main elements of the complex – the Concert Hall, Auditorium, Studios, and Garden – in a coherent sequence. This arrangement ensures easy communication between the different zones and integration with the surrounding environment. The arcades encircling the entire
building connect it to its surroundings, including the designed garden arranged among the existing mature trees.

Architecture
The design embraces restraint and modesty, drawing inspiration from classical forms. This approach ensures a proper relationship with the city’s architectural tradition. Subtle references to Kraków’s heritage are intended to be felt in the architectural atmosphere, including courtyard colonnades, arcades, and the omnipresent city gardens.

The Concert Hall
The hall accommodates 1,012 spectators, excluding an additional 80 choir seats. Acoustic and audio-visual solutions for the Concert Hall and other spaces with specic acoustic requirements have been developed in collaboration with a renowned rm specializing in acoustics, electroacoustics, and audio-video technologies.

Park and Creative Spaces
An integral part of the KCM will be the Artists’ Park, situated among the existing trees. The park will feature an open-air amphitheater adjacent to a historic fort, as well as modular pavilions and gazebos designed for exible, creative use as needed.
The park will serve as a space for recreation, outdoor concerts, and children’s activities. Its potential can be further maximized by incorporating the historic fort into the broader concept in the future. Additionally, water elements will enrich the park’s design, contributing to the ecological solutions outlined below.
